brand recognition. I was sitting at my favorite local coffee shop, the Starbucks at REI in Denver, searching for inspiration and an authentic sense of culture…when it struck me, I should redesign the state’s logo!
but seriously though, the new design does look like a poor rip-off of the newer REI branding. it seems like the commercialization of place and culture is in full swing in Colorado…it feels a bit like the Portlandia ‘put a bird on it’ episode, put a C on it…
a splash of color here, and boom. inspired.
